Nine Bloomlings standing in a row on the grass: Cactitan, Lotusa, Dandelyon, Tidepetal, Sproutling, Anemi, Sunnybud, Mycelord and Emberbloom.

Every Bloomling starts as a cutting

  1. Snip

Weaken a wild Bloomling in battle and glowing buds sprout on it. Tap each one as its ring closes. Time it right and the cutting is yours.

  2. Root

Cuttings root in jars of water at the greenhouse. Water them and they root faster, and every jar shows its chance.

  3. Grow

Once it roots, it joins your garden. Some grow up into a rare sport, like the Tumblebun that grew antlers.

The trailer

Twenty-nine seconds of snipping, rooting, wishing and painting, with the game's own music.

Over 800,000 Bloomlings to grow

There are 56 species in five elements, from the Sproutling to the Starpetal. Cross any two at the Nursery and the hybrid gets its body from one parent and its flower from the other. That makes 3,080 hybrids, and every species has a rare sport of its own.

Count the biome forms and mutations as well and it comes to 838,656, before shinies.

All 56 Bloomling species standing together in four rows, from cacti and sunflowers to mushrooms, lotuses and a comet.

All 56 species, as the game draws them. Meet each one in the Almanac. Swipe along to see everyone.

Paint the garden they live in

Draw paths, hedges, fences, ponds and streams with your finger. Plant trees and flower beds, put a bridge over the water and set out the decor. Beauty raises what every building produces, so a prettier garden makes more.

When you're done, zen view hides the buttons and you can just look.

A day goes by in 24 minutes

Every real minute is an hour in the garden. Mornings are sunny, some afternoons it rains, and at night the lanterns come on. Your Bloomlings feel it too: in the rain the sun ones hold a leaf over their heads while the water ones turn their faces up to it, and at night the tulips and lotuses on their heads fold shut till morning. Some nights the Blight raids, so keep a squad ready.

Garden with friends

  • Groves. Join a Grove or start your own. Help your Grove-mates every ten minutes, grow the Grove Tree together for weekly rewards, and take on the Blight Bloom when it wakes.

  • Visits. Drop in on other gardens, admire their showcase plants and water their jars so their cuttings root.

  • Duels. Send your squad against other gardeners' and climb from Bronze to Diamond. Snip a bud mid-fight and the cutting is yours if you win.

Out in the wilds

Clear the Blight tile by tile and your island grows across 16 biomes, each with natives you won't find anywhere else.

Under it all is the Underroot, a run of floors with a boss on every fifth and a new boon to pick between them.

Out in the wilds: a Blossom Vale tile under cherry trees, with wild Bloomlings at level 24 and Blight-covered land beyond.
